Buttermilk scones

Don't the scones look good? Aren't you jealous of the yummy strawberry shortcake? That was our Valentines day dessert. They tasted really good too! Just to let you know I ended up using 2 extra Tbls. of buttermilk in the batter.

Repro Fabric

Hey Girlies!

I found an AWESOME website today.

http://www.reproductionfabrics.com/

Check it out, there's some really fun stuff in the 'Depression Era' category. I didn't get to look through much of anything else but I'm itching to do some more browsing.

Starting a trend

I told my friend about our weekly recipe trial and our blog. She got so excited she wants to do it with her sister. Can we patent this idea, make some money, and then retire near each other?

Kakat

Here's my Kakat! I forgot that moths attacked my sesame seeds so I didn't have any to put on top. They were still tasty.

My Ka'kat. It was fun and easy. It was a lot like French Bread to me.

Lucy's birthday party was fun. This is her pink treasure chest birthday cake. Peter and Lucy and a couple of friends dressed up as pirates for her party.

Challah

I made challah again today so I thought I would post a picture of it since I didn't get to last time. It's a little over-done. Daisy said that it looked and smelled better than it tasted.

Sara's Goods

Yummy eclairs! Peter ate 5 all in a row. I had to stop him before he made himself sick.

I had to take a picture of them before they were sliced and frosted because they are just golden and gorgeous!

I think the kids look yummier than the eclairs!

Here I am.

Check out my goods. I used a vanilla pudding recipe from How to Cook Everything. It is good. I used part of my 8 dollar vanilla bean. I didn't love the chocolate topping. Anna's looks like it turned out a little thicker. What should we make next? Did we already decide? This is fun. Martha helped me fill them and she did the artistic arranging for the picture.

Choux paste pefection

Don't these look tasty. I liked the pudding recipe from Betterhomes more than the black bottom banna recipe, FYI.

Yes, where is Gwen!

Isn't Seth cute. Clara was student of the month last month, her first one. Isn't she cute too!

Where is Gwen?

Barkeeper's Friend

It has done some amazing things for me in the past few days...permanent marker came off the bathroom counter...wahoo! Sara, try it on your oil cloth...you will have to find a place that sells it, I guess.

Another thing that was doing good stuff for me was orange cleaner. I used it on the top of the stove and it softened things right up. I might have used it "straight"...it was already in a spray bottle.

And what kind of blog is this if no one is every going to post anythinig? hmmmm?

cookie cutters

I am purging my cookie cutters. Here is what I have if anyone wants them...
1 large moose
1 large reindeer (bigger than the moose)
1 blue bird
1 cardinal
1 unicorn
1 nice sized candy cane
1 mini candy cane
1 mini angel
1 mini snowman
1 mini bear
1 mini gingerbread boy/1 mini gbread girl
1 interesting pumpkin
1 duck or it could be a goose
1 ghost
1 penguin
1 snowman
1 pig
1 man/maybe a different version of a gbread boy
1 spade - upsidedown it looks like a heart with a stem - you could punch a hole in the stem and make heart cookies to hang

Beautiful Mom with beautiful cake

Challah Bread

Rustic Potato Loaves

Sister's Summit

So, I'm thinking that we should all save our nickels and dimes so that we can take a Sisters Vacation! (With mom too of course!) Maybe New York for a little sight-seeing and some Broadway Musicals? The place is up for discussion of course. I'm thinking we should plan for sometime in 2008. What say the people?

check out my bread! And what about the cute boy.
